A man found dead at Salt Fork Lake is a former doctor who had been experiencing legal problems.
52 year old John Gholl had his medical license revoked in April by the State Medical Board.
The board acted after it determined Gholl's ability to practice according to accepted standards of care had been impaired because of his habitual or excessive abuse of drugs, alcohol or other substances.
And Gholl had pleaded guilty to Medicaid fraud and was sentenced to five years of community control and ordered to pay $168,000 in restitution.
Gholl's body was found Monday night with a single gunshot wound, triggering an investigation by the sheriff and state agents.
