For several seasons WOUB-TV covered Ohio University football with the football show, “Bobcat Blitz.” This season, the show is expanding to cover multiple sports and has been renamed “Bobcat Sports Showcase.”

“Bobcat Sports Showcase” will give a comprehensive view of OU sports and feature sports such as football, men’s and women’s basketball, wrestling, volleyball and baseball.

The 30-minute program will air on Friday nights at 11 and Saturday mornings at 11 on WOUB-TV. The complete show and individual stories will be available on

The show’s redesign is a unique opportunity for seniors Tanner Smith and Grant Burkhardt.

“It’s not often that a college student gets the opportunity to help develop a show like this,” said Tanner Smith. “It’s an incredible opportunity and we’re going to work hard to make this a show that will focus on great student athletes in a great Division 1 athletics program.”

“The crew is excited about the new format for the show and this unique opportunity to be a part of something new,” said Smith.

According to Smith the format will be a little different from a lot of sports programs. “A lot of our content will come from interviews with coaches and players,” said Smith. “We want to provide viewers with information they can’t find somewhere else.”

The show’s all-student crew includes: Tanner Smith, producer/reporter; Grant Burkhardt, web content producer/host; Matt Archibald, Maddie Kuhn and Kaylee Donegan, reporters and Tony Hermane, shooter.

Viewers outside of WOUB’s coverage area will be able to see the program on Fox College Sports and Check local listings for program time.
