West Virginia is remembering one of the 30 U.S. service members who was killed Aug. 6 when insurgents shot down a helicopter in Afghanistan.

It appears the state won't get $176 million in federal stimulus money to expand its unemployment benefits. A spokesman for Governor John Kasich says it's unwise to make the changes necessary to qualify for the one-time money that will cost the state in the long run.
