Counseling services are available on Ohio University's Athens campus for those who knew a student killed in a car crash over the weekend.

A university spokeswoman says students struggling with the death of Gloria Dawes, 22, can go to Counseling and Psychological Services during regular business hours.

The senior at Ohio University was on her way to a family gathering when she was killed over the weekend on Interstate 77 in Guernsey County.

Dawes was from Adena, Ohio and was a special education major.

Investigators say she crossed the median and hit another car.

The driver of the second car was Ronald Stemberger, 51, of Garfield Heights.

He was hospitalized with serious injuries.

The Patrol could not immediately say what caused the accident, which happened on Sunday.
