Marietta College Professor Mark Bagshaw teaches courses called Leadership in Global Contexts and Business in Global Contexts.

He started out his sabbatical last year with the goal of developing a teaching tool for his students.

What resulted was his first published novel "Chaucer on the Nile: A Pilgrim's Progress," a novel about international business and international terrorism.

"I wanted to do something that would be a new kind of concrete grounding that students would be interested in and maybe find compelling. Something that was not a textbook, a series of lectures or in print," said Bagshaw.

Bagshaw says the best teachers are learning themselves as they teach and he enjoys teaching any subject that continues to engage his curiosity.

Bagshaw is already working on ideas for the sequel.
