An ad hoc committee is being formed by the City of Athens and Ohio University to deal with collaborative initiatives.

According to a news release, the group will develop a Memoradum of Understanding to formalize the initiatives.

Representatives from Athens will include: City Service-Safety Director Paula Horan Moseley, Council Member Chris Knisely, City Engineer Andy Stone, and City Planner Paul Logue.

Ohio University representatives will include Vice President for Student Affairs Kent J. Smith, Jr.; Associate Vice President for Facilities Harry Wyatt; Director of Engagement and Real Estate Management Donna Goss; and Chief of Staff and Special Assistant to the President Becky Watts.

The university recently agreed to a five-year, $250,000 financial commitment to purchase a fire ladder truck with the City of Athens.

That will be one of the collaborations formalized in the Memorandum of Understanding.

The deadline for completion of the memorandum is December 31st.
