Two Ohio University Police detectives should be on their way back from El Paso, Texas with Levi Canterbury of Gallipolis today.
Police Chief Andrew Powers says he sent the detectives to pick up the 21-year-old from the El Paso County Jail.
Canterbury was arrested Friday and charged with the rape of an Ohio University student.
He is accused of picking up a female OU student in Athens in September and driving her to a parking lot, raping her in his car, and then dropping her off near College Gate.
Chief Powers says they located Canterbury through his National Guard unit.
"We located him through his guard unit. We were aware that he was scheduled for deployment so we worked with his guard unit to locate him," says Powers.
No word yet on when Canterbury will appear in court.
