The Wahama White Falcons (9-0) entered hostile territory against a team with much to prove, the Buffalo Bisons (7-2).
Buffalo could clinch a home playoff game with a win tonight and try to end Wahama’s undefeated season.
Early on in the game, Wahama struck early on a long TD run, but it was called back due to a block in the back. After this play, Buffalo’s defense locked up.
Wahama got on the board first on an interception return for a TD by Matthew Stewart early in the first quarter, but had their extra point blocked to only go up 6-0.
Both teams’ offenses were stifled all half due to great defensive plays by both teams.
Wahama’s great defense stood up to the challenge of their offense not scoring and kept Buffalo off the board the entire half.
They did have one promising drive towards the end of the first half.
On 2nd and 27, they had a long 26 yard completion to set up a 3rd and 1 in Wahama territory. They were stopped on 3rd down, but went for it on 4th and picked it up on a QB sneak.
Unfortunately, the next two plays ended in Anthony Grimm sacks for losses of 14 and six yards to end the drive.
Wahama tried to sneak in a score right before half, but Buffalo intercepted it and ran it back to the 45 of Wahama with one second remaining.
Anthony Grimm took over in the second half for Wahama with two rushing touchdowns and effectively put the game away.
Wahama would go on to win 27-8 over Buffalo. Wahama will be a two seed in the playoffs, and although Buffalo has already clinched a playoff berth, they will not have a home game in the first round.
