Athens Co. Sheriff Investigating Theft From Amesville Fire Department

More than $5,000 worth of equipment is missing from the Amesville Fire Department and it could have been an inside job.

Athens County Sheriff Pat Kelly says his office is investigating the theft at the request of Amesville Fire Chief Gary Green.

Green says someone entered the fire department, located on Maple Street, using the key code assigned to firefighters.

Two chain saws, a generator, a dual tank compressor and a leaf blower were stolen.

The theft occurred on October 27th.
