The women’s basketball team will add a little depth and toughness to their program for the 2012-2013 season with the signing of point guard Kiyanna Black. Black is set to graduate from Columbus Africentric High School in the spring.

Black is a native of Columbus and the 5-foot-5-inch point guard was given a three-star rating on ESPN’s high school database with a grade of 85.

In her senior season, Black and her teammates at Africentric will be looking to defend their 2010-11 City League title. Black was a vital part of her team’s victory last year over Reynoldsburg in the conference championship game. She hit a late jumper and was 7-8 from the free throw line. Black was also named to the All City League South Division First Team during the 2010-11 season.
