A former Athens County Sheriff's Deputy will be sentenced in January after pleading guilty to attempted sexual battery charges.
Jerry Hallowell appeared in Athens County Common Pleas Court this morning.
He was found guilty of one count of soliciting or receiving improper compensation and three counts of unauthorized use of Ohio's law enforcement gateway.
Prosecutors say Hallowell engaged in sexual conduct last summer with a female who was providing Hallowell with information on a drug investigation.
As part of the plea deal, Hallowell will have his Ohio Peace Officers Certificate permanently revoked.
He faces up to three and a half years in prison.
Setencing is scheduled for January 25th.
