Mister Bee's president says there are no plans to close the Parkersburg potato chip maker.

Mister Bee filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last week.

President Doug Klein says that the company is awaiting approval of a new investor.

Klein didn't identify the investor.

He says Mister Bee hopes to resume production within the next few weeks. Chapter 11 will allow the company to restructure and secure investors who won't be liable for past debts.

Klein notified customers in October that Mister Bee had lost distribution rights to Utz and Snyders of Hanover potato chips. As a result, the company lost more than $2 million in sales revenue.

Klein's grandparents, Leo and Sara Klein, founded the company in 1951.
