A Vienna man has been arrested on charges related to the theft of weapons and other items from a veterans museum.

Media outlets report that police arrested 24-year-old William Joseph Kerns on Christmas Eve. He is charged with possession of stolen property.

Parkersburg police say a firearm and two knives in Kerns' possession are among the items that were taken from the Mid-Ohio Valley Veterans Museum last week. Kerns has not been charged in the break-in.

There was no telephone listing for Kerns in the Vienna area. It wasn't immediately clear whether he has an attorney.

The investigation by Parkersburg police and the Wood County Sheriff's office is continuing.
