Athens County Planner Settling In

"I'm getting my feet wet."
That's the status update from Athens County Planner Lori Burchett.
Burchett has been on the job for about a month now, taking over where former Planner Bob Eichenberg left off.
Although the position has been restructured, Burchett doesn't plan any operational changes.
"(I will) continue what the county has been doing," she says, "and to keep those services available and work on different projects."
She says one such project is the bike path connector in The Plains.
One thing is different, though — the Athens County Planner's office is now in The Plains.
Burchett has moved in with the Athens County Soil and Water Conservation District, which is splitting the cost of her salary with Athens County.
