January Athens Crime Solvers Cases

Athens County Crime Solvers Anonymous needs your help in solving several crimes highlighted as crimes of the month of January.

 
Athens City police are looking information about a home invasion turned shooting.  
 
In the early morning hours of December 20th, two men entered a home on North Congress Street, shot the husband in the leg and tied both the husband and wife up before ransacking the house.
 
The suspects are described as 5'10" tall, 200 pounds and 6'00" tall, fairly skinny.
 
The men were wearing ski masks at the time of the burglary.
 
The Nelsonville Police Department is investigating a copper theft.  A large amount of copper tubing was stolen from the system used for the Nelsonville ice skating rink.  The rink is owned by the Nelsonville Chamber of Commerce.
 
And the Athens County Sheriff's Office is seeking information about the stabbing death of an Athens County man in April of 2011.
 
James Braden, 43, of New Marshfield, was found in his home with several stab wounds to his head and neck.
 
Detectives say they believe two people were present when Braden was killed.
