Wahama used a strong second half to defeat Trimble 65-54 Friday Night at Trimble High School.
Wahama was lead offensively by Senior Isaac Lee who tallied up a game-high 19 points in the contest. Lee was supported by teammate and fellow Senior Hunter Oliver who finished with a double-double consisting of 14 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
Trimble was led offensively by Jacob Hooper who finished with 12 points in the game. Hooper was followed by Konner Standley with 11 points and Jacob Koons with 10 points, respectively.Trimble got out to a fast start in the opening quarter of the game showing high energy and a strong will to win. The Tomcats would end the first quarter with a solid 22-12 lead.The Wahama White Falcons would outscore the Tomcats 9-6 in the second quarter. Trimble would be able to hang on to the lead, however, and go into the locker room with the Tomcats ahead 28-21.The second half was controlled mainly by Wahama.
Wahama turned to Senior leader Isaac Lee in the second half. Lee scored 17 of his 19 points in the second half. Lee gained many of his points off his nine rebound performance, most of which came in the second half.Wahama would take the lead in the third quarter, ending with Trimble trailing 40-36.After Wahama took the lead, Trimble never got it back. Wahama Would continue to build the lead to finish with a victory.Wahama also won the majority of the statistic categories tallying up 36 rebounds to Trimble’s 34. Wahama shot 43% from the field with Trimble hitting 38% of their shots. Wahama also capitalized from the free-throw line making 15 of 19 while Trimble made 5 of 8.Defensively Wahama forced Trimble to commit 23 turnovers while Wahama committed 21.
Trimble spends some time on the road next playing at Waterford on January 17th, and then at Miller on the 20th.
Wahama gets to play in the comfort of their home gym as they are home against Miller on January 17th, and home with South Gallia on the 20th.
