Former Parkersburg finance director Doug Life will spend 36 hours in jail after pleading guilty to a drunken driving charge.
Life pleaded guilty Thursday in Wood County Magistrate Court to aggravated driving under the influence.
Life received a 48-hour jail sentence and a $200 fine. His attorney, Bill Merriman, says he will receive credit for time served and will serve 36 hours.
Parkersburg police arrested the 54-year-old Life after his pickup truck ran off State Route 95 and hit street signs and a concrete barrier last Sunday evening.
He resigned from his city job Wednesday.
Mayor Bob Newell appointed assistant finance director Angie Smith to replace Life.
