An Ohio County school bus driver who was at the wheel during an accident that injured an elementary school student has resigned.

The Ohio County Board of Education accepted the resignation of John Rowan on Monday evening.
Police say Rowan was taking 23 students to Middle Creek Elementary last week when the bus crossed the center line, hit a telephone pole and crashed in a yard. The bus came to a stop within feet of a mobile home.
The school district did an internal investigation and reviewed video from cameras on the bus, but the board won't release its report.
The police report isn't finished yet.
