Kentucky House Speaker Greg Stumbo was able to get legislation through the House aimed at cracking down prescription pill abuse on Thursday, the same day that three men robbed a pharmacy in one of the communities he represents.

The Prestonsburg Democrat has been pushing a proposal that would crack down on doctors who overprescribe painkillers in an effort to keep the pills out of the hands of addicts.

Some 12 hours before that vote, Kentucky State Police said four men wearing masks robbed a pharmacy in the Floyd County community of Eastern, taking "an unknown quantity" of prescription narcotics.

Police are still searching for the men, one of whom brandished a gun during the robbery.
