On this edition of Conversations from Studio B, Wendy McVicker talks with West Virginia poets Carrie Oeding and Kent Shaw.
Oeding's first book, Our List of Solutions, won the Lester M. Wolfson prize in 2010.
Her work has appeared in such places as Colorado Review, Third Coast, Greensboro Review, Mid-American Review and Best New Poets 2005.
An alumna of Ohio University, Oeding is currently working on a second book of poems and a book of creative nonfiction essays. She is a visiting assistant professor at Marshall University.
Shaw, who is married to Oeding, is the author of the poetry book Calenture, which won the 2007 Tampa Review Prize.
Poems from his second manuscript, Gigantic, have appeared or are forthcoming in The Believer, Ploughshares, H.O.W. Journal and Pleiades. Shaw is an assistant professor in the English Department at West Virginia State University.
