The Athens Police Department kicked off the city's notorious "fest season" with 10 arrests on Saturday between 3 p.m and 1 a.m. Sunday.
Captain Ralph Harvey says the arrests were mostly alcohol related and eight were made in the High Street area -- the location of the first of this spring's annual block parties.
One was a felony drug arrest.
Arrests were made by the Athens Police Department, Ohio University Police Department and the Ohio Investigative Unit.
