City Says No To Property Owner Offer Of Boulder Hillside< < Back to
The owner of the property where a boulder fell in March says the city has told him it's not interested in taking control of the hillside where the huge rock was located before it dislodged and smashed into a car and house.
Michael Weiser said Friday he offered it to Athens because the city has more resources to handle its maintenance.
He says the city told him the site is his responsibility.
But Weiser told WOUB News that the city has some responsbility, too, and he's disappointed officials have not worked with him on the problem.
Officials monitoring the area say they don't believe there's an immediate threat of another rockslide.
