May Crimes Of The Month

The Athens County Crime Solvers Anonymous have listed their Crimes of the Month for May.

  • Athens City Police are asking for information about the house fire on Palmer Street. Unknown person or persons forced their way into the basement and set the fire on April 28 around 7 p.m. Most of  the damage was contained to the basement, but two of the apartments in the residence were moderately damaged and the other two have      smoke and heat damage.
  • The Athens County Sheriff's Office is looking for information in relation to a call from an 81-year-old woman. Late in January, the woman reported that someone had came into her home and beaten her. The Sheriff's Office found she had cuts on her shoulder and had been beaten in the face. Her front door had been kicked in and items were stolen from the home.
  • The Athens County Sheriff's Office is requesting information about an aggravated robbery at the Guysville Marathon Station. At midnight on April 1st, a gun man dressed in dark clothing entered the station and demanded money. He left the store on foot with an unreported amount of cash.
  •
