A homeless man is behind bars in Fairfield County in connection with multiple reports of approaching children and calling himself a park ranger.

The Lancaster Police Department arrested Eric Michael Brown, 27, on a probation violation, but consider him a suspect in the park incidents.

A spokeswoman for the police department says a man matching Brown's description was spotted Tuesday morning on East Main Street in Lancaster.

According to police, the man was suspected of approaching children in Cenci Park on Monday.

Additional charges are being presented to the Fairfield County Prosecutor's Office.

Brown is currently being held in the Fairfield County Jail.
