On this edition of Conversations from Studio B, Emily Prince talks with Wendy McVicker and Ellie Andrews about the "July Arts Extravaganza" taking place at Union Arts on July 6.
This performance brings together three local performing arts groups.
Another Language Altogether melds music and poetry for an enhanced performance experience. McVicker (poet) and Prince (musician) are Athens-based artists whose work embraces the art of collaboration and friendship with a touch of humor.
The nobrow.music.collective is a rotating cast of musicians dedicated to the performance of exciting music, be it old, new, highbrow or lowbrow. Past performances have included collaborations with the Athens Dance Collective, video artist Max Tohline, the Ohio University School of Theater and the Athena Cinema.
The Tiny Spaces Dance Company forms part of the Athens Dance Collective, a group of local dancers who seek to collaborate with other artists, musicians and performers, working to develop a network for exchanging resources and promoting performance opportunities.
Union Arts is located beneath Haffa's Records on West Union Street in Athens. The show starts at 8 p.m. and is free to the public, although donations are encouraged.
