A wet roadway may be to blame for a fatal crash in Scioto County Thursday night.

Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers say 61-year-old Christopher Beesler, of South Webster, lost control of his Chevy Impala while driving on State Route 140 around 8 p.m.

The car slid off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Beesler was pronounced dead at the scene.

His passengers, 60-year-old Kathy Beesler and 28-year-old Jason Beesler were taken to Southern Ohio Medical Center.

Troopers are investigating the crash, which makes the fourth fatal accident in the month of July in Scioto County.
