Zanesville Community Theatre Presents "Oliver!"

The Zanesville Community Theatre’s 49th season wraps up this month with the musical Oliver!, based on the Charles Dickens classic.

Directed by Zanesville Community Theatre veteran Sheryl Wise, the production features a cast of nearly 50 seasoned performers and talented newcomers.

Leading the cast in the title role is 10 year-old Ethan Wigal. His new-found friend and mentor, the Artful Dodger, is played by Cory Burkhart.

Others in this Victorian story of love, loss and hidden identity include Steve Hendershott as Fagin; Jillian von Gunten as Nancy; Dave Kerr as Bill Sykes; Steven Foreman as Mr. Bumble and Dee McCarthy as the Widow Corney.

Oliver! opens on Friday, Aug. 3 at 7 p.m. Other evening performances will be held Saturday, Aug. 4 and Thursday, Aug. 9 through Saturday, Aug. 11, all beginning at 7 p.m.

In addition, there will also be two Sunday matinees on Aug. 5 and Aug. 12 with a 2:30 p.m. curtain time for both performances.
