On this edition of Conversations from Studio B, Jessica Makosky talks with the founder of the Diamond Music Festival, Nick Collura.
Now in its 14th year, the festival is held at Lake Logan and features a diverse lineup of area musicians playing everything from bluegrass to R&B and hard rock.
"We try to fly all colors," said Collura.
Many also know Collura as the proprietor of the Insea Sound Shop on Route 33 in Nelsonville, a musical instrument store that also boasts an old-school analog recording studio, where a number of local artists have cut their albums.
This year’s Diamond Festival, held on July 27 and 28, featured a performance by the Sound Shop All-Stars, a group of young students that take music lessons at Insea Sound Shop.
"We’ve always asked those young kids to be creative and write at least on original song, so we’ve always underlined original music through the music fest. It’s really exciting," said Collura.
