The Ohio volleyball started its season against some tough competition during the Flyer Classic over the weekend, but lost three straight, ending with a 3-1 loss to Dayton Sunday afternoon.

The sets went back and forth, and numerous players had standout individual performances during the match. Lexie Hartnett was a kill shy of her career best and Serena Warner had a career-high 11 blocks. Faith Robins had 10 kills and hit .529. Freshmen Abby Gilleland and Meredith Ashy had career-bests as well. Gilleland had 46 assists for the day and Ashy had 25 digs.

Ohio will face more top-notch opponents this weekend, but this time it will be on the 'Cats home court. No. 13 Kentucky, No. 20 Oregon, and Western Carolina visit the Convo for the Baymount Invitational. The 'Cats open the weekend Friday at 7 p.m against the Wildcats.
