A man is in jail in connection with stealing a semi truck in Kentucky and bringing it to Scioto County.

Scioto County Sheriff Marty Donini says his deputies arrested 27-year-old Corey Murphy, of Stout, after the semi truck parked outside a business in Maysville, Kentucky was stolen.

The victim of the theft returned to his truck to find it missing, and later the company of the truck activated the GPS system to find that the truck's last whereabouts was in West Portsmouth.

After searching the area, the Ohio State Patrol were unable to find the missing semi.

A week following the theft, a Portsmouth resident called to complain that a suspicious semi parked behind a residence near a bush.

Murphy is being held at the Scioto County Jail for one count of Receiving Stolen Property, and is also a suspect in other stolen semi trucks in the area.
