On this edition of Conversations from Studio B, host Kelee Riesbeck talks with Dr. Darlene Berryman and Lara Householder about the evolution of obesity and diabetes research.
"You have more fat tissue per gram than any other tissue, and it makes a fair amount of hormones. And those hormones can have major effects on your overall body metabolism, your immune function, and almost every aspect of your health", says Berryman.
Berryman and Householder also discuss the newly formed Diabetes Institute at Ohio University, as well as the new diabetes studies certificate available to undergraduate students at Ohio University.
