Ohio University College Democrats are working to rouse political interest in young adults for the upcoming General Election.

The organization has paired with Bobcats for Obama, a group partnering with students to the President Obama campaign in an effort to get people to go out and vote.

Members gathered Thursday night to watch President Obama's speech at the Democratic National Convention.

President of College Democrats Shannon Welch says the president's speech left her with a feeling of hope.

"I thought President Obama's speech was incredible.  He definitely really showed me he's going to continue to fight for me and the people that I love and care about, so I'm just really excited and motivated to continue working hard up until election day," said Welch.

Vice President Joe Biden will be in Athens Saturday to speak at the Athens community center.

Organizers say his speech will focus on the middle class as well as how to move forward with the economy.
