After winning last weekend's Harry Grove Invitational, junior Juli Accurso has earned MAC Cross Country honors as this week's Women's Runner of the Week. This is the first time Accurso has earned Cross Country Runner of the Week honors.
Accurso is coming off a season in which she garnered All-America status as a runner in both cross country and track and field. In 2011, Accurso claimed the individual title in the MAC Championships in Cross Country with a time of 20:35.3 and earned First Team All-MAC honors. Accurso also won the All-Ohio Championships with a time of 17:55.38. She finished 10th in last season's Harry Grove Invitational.
Saturday, Accurso improved her 2011 Hary Groves Invitational time by 40 seconds to take first place. The junior posted an average pace of 5:51 to claim the six kilometer race and lead Ohio to a fifth place team finish. Accurso has now won four races as a Bobcat.
Accurso is from Casstown, Ohio, where she attended Miami East High School.
