A father is in stable condition at a Huntington hospital after being shot by his son, according to the Gallia County Sheriff.

The shooting happened Friday morning at a trailer in the 2600-block of SR 325 outside of Rio Grande.

Sheriff Joe Browning says the victim is Jerry Eads, and that he was shot by his son, Clinton Eads, during some type of domestic dispute.

The shooting was reported about 9:45 Friday morning.

Jerry Eads was found outside the trailer with a shotgun wound to the abdomen.

He was then taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington.

Sheriff Browning says Clinton Eads was taken into custody when deputies arrived on the scene.

Two children under the age of two were in the house when the shooting happened.

The Sheriff says they are now in the custody of another family member.

Browning says 911 received two calls about the shooting, one from the residence and the other from a neighbor.

He also tells WSAZ.com it was the son's house where the shooting happened.

"All I can say that this is not Clint's fault. His dad (Jerry) would come up her all the time and threaten me and him."

No word on the charges Clinton Eads faces.
