New Lexington City School District Proposes Tax Levy Renewal

Voters in the New Lexington City School District will have a tax levy renewal on the November ballot.

Superintendent Tonya Sherburne said the renewal is for three mills and would last five years.

This tax issue has been renewed twice in the past.

Sherburne said the school district uses about $70,000 per year from the renewal for general operating of the school district.

Sherburne also said if the renewal is passed, there will not be an increase on taxes for anyone.
