Athens County Commissioner Candidate Withdraws

An Athens County Commissioner candidate is no longer in the running.

The Board of Elections confirms Anne Cornwell, an independent, withdrew her name from the race yesterday.

Cornwell failed to address the reason for withdrawing in her letter to the Board of Elections.

Cornwell was not available for comment.

She is a certified public accountant.

Her move leaves voters with two choices next month: Republican Randy Mace and Democrat Chris Chmiel.
