Brittany Walker, Ohio’s reliable goalkeeper, was named the Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week by the league offices today. This is the  second time Walker has won the award this season.

Walker shut out St. Joseph’s last week in a dominant performance. She has the second lowest goals against average in the MAC with an average of 1.87. She has the most shut outs in the MAC and ranks second in the league with a .746 save percentage.

Two weeks ago, Walker held Ohio State and Robert Morris to a combined one goal. That performance also won her the MAC Defensive Player of the Week award.

The Bobcats have a daunting slew games ahead of them this week. Ohio travels to No. 15 Wake Forest for a game on Wednesday.  They return to Athens on Saturday for a home against Ball State. Ohio will conclude the week in a battle with another ranked team; No. 20 Michigan State will visit Pruitt Field on Sunday.
