Ohio Men’s Basketball Receives Verbal Commitment from DJ Wingfield

Ohio men’s basketball has received a verbal commitment from 6-foot-5 shooting guard/small forward DJ Wingfield, according to Cincinnati.com.

Wingfield is a senior at Walnut Hills High School in Cincinnati. He averaged 17.8 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists as a junior at Lockland High School in Lockland, Ohio before transferring to Walnut Hills this year.
 
Wingfield received offers from St. Bonaventure, Ball State, American, Kent State and Stony Brook, among others. 
 
He was the Cincinnati Enquirer Division IV Player of the Year at Lockland High School last year.
 
Wingfield is the son of former NBA player and University of Cincinnati standout Dontonio Wingfield. 
 
Wingfield joins Antonio Campbell, the 6-foot-8 Cincinnati Taft High School standout, as a part of Jim Christian’s first recruiting class at Ohio. Campbell and Wingfield are the first recruits to commit to Ohio in Christian’s era.
