The Tri-Valley Scotties defended their home field for the final time in the regular-season against the Sheridan Generals 63-13 on Senior Night at Jack Anderson Stadium Friday night behind seniors Austin Jones and Nathan Strock.
Strock was able to connect with Ian Moran once and Travis Krouskoupf twice in the end zone for a total of three touchdowns on the night, completing 15 of his 20 attempts. Strock is yet to throw an interception this season.
Jones averaged 12.3 yards a carry for a total of 185 yards on the night and reached the end zone on three different occasions. Strock helped with the attack on the ground 10 times for a total of 159 yards and earned two touchdowns.
Tri-Valley collected 442 yards on the ground, contributing to their 639 total yards of offense.
The Scottie defense controlled Sheridan’s attack, only allowing 127 yards of offense.
For the Generals, quarterback Luke Fox found Conner Smith early in the 2nd quarter to respond to Tri-Valley’s early 21-0 run, shortening the gap to 15. Fox finished the night with 42 passing yards and one touchdown.
The Scotties went into the locker rooms with a 42-6 lead and only increased the deficit throughout the second half.
Over the past five matchups, neither team had been able to win at home or be victorious in consecutive seasons. With the win tonight, Tri-Valley breaks the pattern and improves to 9-0 (7-0 MVL) and gives Sheridan a 4-5 (3-4 MVL) record.
Sheridan has lost five games in a row and will look to avoid their first losing season since 1989 next week as they host New Lexington.
Tri-Valley will attempt to complete a perfect regular season next week at Philo.
