Two Athens County Red Cross workers are in New Jersey helping with preparations for Hurricane Sandy.
According to the Red Cross of Athens County the pair arrived on Saturday and are well prepared to deal with the impact of the storm.
Executive director Jane Patton said at the local level the organization is taking a wait and see approach and closely monitoring the changing conditions.
"Usually with shelter situations you can wait until after it happens and then we respond," she said. "We do have shelters always that are available to us. So, should that situation arise, we will be ready."
