Unofficial election results are in for Muskingum County.
For County Commissioner Republican Todd Sands is in the lead with 54% (18,877) against Democrat John D. Bates with 34% (11,922) and Independent Steve Strauss with 11% (3,993).
The second County Commissioner race is much closer with Jerry L. Lavy taking the lead with 51% (17,305) against Eddie Brock with 49% (16,619).
Voters approved the Zanesville-Muskingum County General Health levy renewing 1 mills for the next ten years with 62% of the vote.
The Muskingum County mental health recovery levy renewing 1 mills for ten years is ahead with 61%.
Voters rejected the West Muskingum Local School District levy.
It would have provided emergency requirements of 5.9 mills for five years did not pass with 55% against the levy.
Provisional ballots in Muskingum County are the only votes left to be counted.
