The Ohio Bobcats swimming and diving team continued their success Friday night in Fairfax, Va. The Bobcats took five of the top eight spots in the 1-meter diving finals, claiming 80 points in the process.

Kristin Capcik, Haleigh Bartlett, MaryRose Hillstrom and Morgan Srail were the top four finishers in the event, and Natalie Gray rounded out the scoring by taking seventh place.

Rachel Stearns, Tori Bagan, Addison Ferguson and Lauren Funk took fourth place in the 200-yard medley relay, while Stephanie Gyurke claimed fifth place in the 400-yard IM.

Ferguson also won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 0:55.33, outlasting Paige Impink of Mason University by four-tenths of a second. Stearns also claimed fourth place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 0:57.43, grabbing 15 points for the women.

The 800-yard freestyle team finished off the night with a victory, solidifying Ohio’s place on top of the leaderboard after day two. Gyurke, Michelle Gasior, Haley Clark and Katey Brooks snagged the last 40 points of the night.

Ohio’s 503.5 points place them in the lead going into the last day of the tournament. George Mason trails by over 100 points and will need a big comeback to overtake the Bobcats on the last day.
