The Lady Bulldogs of Athens defeated Meigs 64-35 behind a strong defensive effort that forced 35 Lady Marauder turnovers.

The Bulldogs were led by Dominique Doseck with 18 points and six steals. She kept the team together and focused on passing well for the whole game despite not playing the fourth quarter.

Another highlight for Athens was Hannah DeBruin who scored 13 points off the bench.

The girls shut down Meigs even in the fourth with the starters on the bench. The Bulldogs passed the ball extremely well also, as they just worked the ball around until they got the open shot and then dominated the boards.

Leaders for Meigs were Morgan Russell who scored a team-high nine points and pulled down four rebounds. The Marauders held it close until the turnovers got out of hand that led to Athens blowing the game open and killing any Meigs momentum.

The Lady Bulldogs will take their undefeated record into Wellston next Monday where they will look to gain their fifth win of the season.
