Tight game in Nelsonville Thursday night ended with the Athens Lady Bulldogs pulling out a close 48-41 victory over Nelsonville-York on the shoulders of Dominique Doseck.

She finished the game as the leading scorer with 28 points, seven steals, and shot 40 percent from behind the three-point arc.

Both teams hurt themselves as each committed more than 15 turnovers each. Athens made up for it by crashing the boards as they collected 28 rebounds as a team.

A downside for both teams was the slow start to the game scoring wise, as the first half only had a combined 39 total points. This showed off some great defense but also some bad decision making on the offense.

N-Y completed a pretty impressive feat tonight as they held Athens to their lowest point total all season long. N-Y also had a strong night from Angela Meade on defense although she struggled a bit on offense moving the ball. Shelby True showed strong energy against the Bulldogs bigs. Madison Davis had good ball handling in the paint as she scored nine points.
