Accident Restricts Part Of US 35 In Jackson County

UPDATE 5:00 P.M. Ohio Department of Transportation officials are reporting the lanes affected by an earlier accident are now open to traffic.


UPDATE 2:22 P.M. Both east and westbound lanes of US Route 35 in Jackson County are restricted at this hour due to a two-vehicle accident.

According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, the stretch of road between Caves Road and Lloyds Bridge Road is affected as emergency crews clean up an earlier accident.

The eastbound lanes of the highway were previously closed, but are now open.

ODOT officials say temporary closures still are possible.

No word on any injuries in the accident.


Motorists are advised to avoid part of US Route 35 in Jackson County as an accident has closed a 2-mile stretch of eastbound lanes.

According to a dispatcher with the Ohio State Highway Patrol, two vehicles are involved in the accident.

The Ohio Department of Transportation reports the highway is closed between Caves Road and Lloyds Bridge Road.

No detour has been posted yet.

Westbound lanes of US 35 remain open.

No word on any injuries in the crash.
