The parents of a Parkersburg High School student said a teacher put their son in a box labeled "Bad Kid Fort" because of his behavior in the classroom.
Beth Dean and Jeff Richards said their 15-year-old son has Asperger's Syndrome. They said the teacher humiliated him.
Dean said the teacher placed the cardboard box around her son's seat.
Principal Pam Goots said the incident wasn't good judgment. But she doesn't believe the teacher intended to embarrass the student.
Goots said she is dealing with incident. She declined to provide details, citing personnel matters.
Goots also said teachers need more training to better work with autistic students.
