An Albany man is sentenced to 12 years in prison for robbing a Nelsonville bank and a Glouster carryout.

According to Athens County Prosecutor Keller Blackburn, Judge Michael Ward sentenced 30-year-old Jason Johnson in Athens County Common Pleas Court Thursday.

Johnson had previously pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated robbery and one count of tampering with evidence.

He was accused of robbing the Citizen's Bank in Nelsonville in September and the Jewel's Carryout in Glouster in October.

In both instances, Blackburn says Johnson used a gun.

Johnson also entered a guilty plea to two counts of trafficking heroin.

Johnson is already ordered to serve a three-year sentence on a previous case. He will spend a total of 15 years in prison.
