A Lawrence County commissioner faces a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence following an incident Monday afternoon.
Sheriff Jeff Lawless says deputies responded to a 911 call at a residence on County Road 181.
Les Boggs' wife told deputies her husband had assaulted her.
According to an incident report, Boggs' allegedly pulled his wife's hair, grabbed her cell phone and left the house.
The report says the couple is in the process of getting a divorce.
Officers say there were no injuries or signs of struggle.
Deputies arrested Boggs and booked him in to the Lawrence County jail. He later posted bond.
