Nelsonville Man Headed To Prison For Trying To Run Over Officer

A Nelsonville man is headed to prison after pleading guilty to a felony assault charge.

Judge Alan Goldsberry sentenced John Mace, 31, to four years in prison.  

Mace changed his plea to guilty during a pre-trial hearing Wednesday.

According to Athens County Prosecutor Keller Blackburn, Mace tried to run over an officer with his vehicle in June 2012.
