Ohio sophomore Tori Bagan was named MAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week. Bagan, who swims both Breast and Freestyle for the Bobcats, earned the honors for her success this past week.

Bagan was vital in Ohio’s wins against Marshall (167-116) and West Virginia University (165-135), swimming in seven events, winning four of the events.

During the Marshall meet, Bagan was on the winning 200 medley relay team (1:48.98), she claimed second in the 50 yard freestyle race (24.84), falling short of  first place by only three tenths of a second and third place in the 100 yard freestyle (54.61).

Bagan answered her impressive performance at the Marshall meet with an even more spectacular performance at the West Virginia Meet winning the 100 breast stroke with a season best time of 1:05.90, the 200 breast stroke swimming another season best 2:23.87 and was a part of the winning 400 medley relay team. The only race Bagan did not place first in was the 200 freestyle relay, where her team placed second (1:36.99) just two tenths of a second behind first place.

Bagan and the rest of the Bobcats will return to the pool on Friday at home against Xavier, where the Cats will try to extend their win streak to four in a row.
